Must-See Dinosaur Park in Oregon
Before having kids, we never fell for roadside attractions. (Okay, maybe once—Flintstones Park in Arizona—but that experience only confirmed why we usually avoid them.)
But as parents? Apparently, we’re getting soft.
We had never pulled a U-turn so fast as when we passed a life-size Arlo (The Good Dinosaur fans, you get it) on the side of the road!
$28 later (plus a stuffed dino from the gift shop), we explored The Prehistoric Gardens in Port Orford, Oregon—and we’re giving it a 5-star rating!

What to Expect When You Visit
We knew we had to stop when we spotted the 46-foot Brachiosaurus towering over Highway 101.
The park features 23 life-sized, scientifically accurate dinosaurs designed in detail based on real fossils. But what truly makes this place magical isn’t just the dinosaurs—it’s the lush rainforest setting. Walking through, you feel like you’ve stepped straight into Jurassic Park (minus the running and screaming part).
This isn’t your typical over-the-top, animatronic dinosaur park. There’s no roaring sound effects, no Jurassic Park theme song blaring in the background—just a peaceful, immersive stroll through towering trees and ancient creatures.
Final thoughts
The Prehistoric Gardens, you’re a 10/10 in our books!
Yes, it’s a little pricey for how quick the visit is, but the realistic dinosaurs set in a natural rainforest made it totally worth it for us. We also loved that it felt like a small-town gem—no gimmicks, just a well-preserved piece of history and fun for dino-loving kids (and parents!).
We also felt great about supporting a local attraction, and judging by the packed guest book, they seem to be doing pretty well!
